The Black Bull Inn may only be moments away from the A1 but you’d never know it once you’re there, tucked away as it is in the picturesque little village of Moulton, just near Scotch Corner, in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire.
The beautiful country lanes leading east from the A1 towards the pub are the epitome of traditional England at its pastoral best, and Moulton itself is so authentic it can be found listed in the Domesday Book (as the residence of Saxon named Ulph, apparently).
Heading Northbound on A1
If driving northbound up the A1 come off at Scotch Corner / Richmond junction go all the way round the roundabout and turn back on yourself to head back down south on the A1. About a mile south you will see a slip road, sign posted Moulton/ North Cowton. Come off at the slip road and follow the road for approx 1 mile and it will bring you into the village of Moulton. Following the road around to the right and the restaurant is located on the left.
Heading Southbound on A1
If travelling southbound down the A1, past the Scotch Corner / Richmond junction and continue to travel for a mile. Turn off at the slip road sign posted Moulton / North Cowton and follow the road for approx 1 mile and it will bring you into the village of Moulton. Following the road around to the right and the restaurant is located on the left.
